CORRI still is seeking restaurants within Georgetown County willing to participate in oyster shell recycling. Each restaurant will be provided with collection bins and instruction on easy and effective methods for handling shells and bins. Depending on volume, Roff Recycling will schedule regular shell pick-ups that initially will be subsidized by CORRI. Any establishment interested in participating should contact Keith Walters (843.349.2477) or Kira Roff (843.543.9811).

A number of tidal creek sites have been identified as targets for possible reef restoration efforts (see below). If anyone would like us to consider a specific location please contact Keith Walters.

We will begin shell bagging and reef restoration activities on April 11, 2015. Anyone interesting in helping out getting shell bags ready for placement in the tidal creeks below is welcome to stop by the field behind the Center for Marine & Wetlands Study off of Husted Road across from the main CCU campus. Activities will begin @ 9am and continue until about noon. The schedule of restoration activities along with information about what is entailed can be found at Restoration Schedule. Anyone interested in participating can either get their name on CORRI's email list by providing information on the Volunteer page or watch for upcoming announcements.
